I'm in the same boat as you. my friend. I'm much older, though. I remember going out on a first date and being asked if I had any siblings. I knew I'd stutter on "sister," so I said "no." After I few cocktails while listening to a song my sister liked, I told her that my sister liked that song. She blew up. Called me a liar, etc. It's difficult. I wish I would have told her I stuttered right out of the gate. But, would that account lying to avoid stuttering? I feel the best approach is to stutter through no matter how long it takes. As long as you get your point across. Can't be a victim, you know?
