Opposite reaction here: I have performed many many interviews from both sides. Never have I disclosed my stutter. However, I do prep and plan ideas and messages I want to get across. I also plan synonyms and work arounds for when I get stuck. I try with my entire soul to not stutter noticeably. Your summer job is not the utmost importance, however, many jobs after this will be very important. I feel that immediately upon hearing your stutter, the listener’s mind places you in an “inferior” or “non competition” category. Just as we do to children or many other types of disabilities.
