I've thought about this a lot. The short answer: find a primary physician and get prescribed something for the anxiety. I was seeing a psychiatrist (for ADHD) and he prescribed me something called propranolol which is very mild but reduced my anxiety and decreased my stuttering (it is also a very safe drug, with virtually no side effects or risk of addiction; and it's cheap). I've noticed that there are some words that I can't say to other people, but I can say to myself no problem. So I feel like anxiety is really linked to stuttering (for most). Work with a physician and try to find a good dose and a good medication that works for you. Don't let stuttering get in the way of doing something you would otherwise enjoy. Best of luck
