When I was younger, my stutter was almost all blocks. Not very many repetitions or prolongations. And I was concerned because most people associate stuttering only with repetitions and prolongations. I was worried about how my strange pauses would be interpreted. So I considered intentionally exaggerating things and adding more repetitions to my speech as a way of saying, "Hey! I have a speech disorder. So don't judge me!" without actually having to say it. Anyway, I don't recall actually doing that exaggeration intentionally in an actual conversation. Just when talking to myself or imagining various exchanges. But then over time, repetitions and prolongations became a bit more common in my stutters. But y'know what? I became less anxious about the stutter. Unfortunately, it didn't do anything for whatever other anxiety I was experiencing that caused the stutter to begin with.
