OP here: Thank you. Yes the onset appeared out of nowhere starting at age 28. I was not involved in any accidents or traumas. My therapist, however, hypothesises that the trauma relates to me breaking out of a proverbial, introverted shell. The stutter originated after dating and marrying my extroverted wife (and thus engaging with equally extroverted, type A people more frequently). I’m introverted and never attended parties previously. Now I’m in a high-level job and doing more social things than ever before. So the therapist claims that this was a shock to the system. I don’t know. Now to communicate I have to type out words on a computer or phone. I feel like Stephen Hawking in that I require technology to communicate
