If your not ready for it. Don't go, its good to push your boundries and step over your fears. But can have a negative impact on your speaking. I actually had a date yesterday in the first time in 8+/- years. All the time i wasn't ready for it, hated it and didn't want to put the other person in a position where they had to wait every time i had something interesting to say. Atm doing collage (again but in a field i wanted to) taking counseling and speech consultations. This time around, i was ready. I felt confident, and had experience, speaking in difficult situations. And i can say it was a success. (She told me she had a great time, so it wasn't my imagination, haha) Follow the path your comfortable with and emotional ready for it. The time will come when your ready for a date, and sometime the date finds you. I came across this lovely girl on a party and we had so many common grounds it just felt right. So i asked her out :) I'm cheering for you and be happy.
