This is not correct. It's a huge misconception that stuttering is caused by stress. Of course someone who already stutters can find their stuttering is more pronounced when under stress/pressure, but stress alone is never the underlying cause. Think about the people you know who have experienced stress from work, school, family, etc - how many of them developed a stutter as a result?
