Confirmation of high exhale rate: Choked flow Hi guys, I have been posting about my method and high exhale rate of stutterers. The blocks happens physically due to high exhale rate, especially by vocals, k(ey) , g(ive). Here is an experiment to prove it. If you laughter with a high voice, it will sound like discreet ha-ha-ha. The fast air can't flow through the small gaps between the vocal cords. However, if you laughter very silently or by whisper, it will sound like continuous haaaaaaa. The slow air will not be choked, the vocal cords are wide open during whispering. From this point of view, everyone stutters during a lachter due to choked flow theory. You can prevent this choking by training with Keep it costal app to reduce your exhale rate and measure it by my M Test. ( see my previous posts) SLPs make people elongate the first vocals (suuuch thaaaat) to decrease the air amount, so that air pressure and speed also decreases. If you decrease your exhale rate( also by using airflow ), you dont need speaking techniques such as elongation, shaping or melody.
