>I cried for the first time in 2 years and why? Because I couldn't say a fucking word I'm sorry to hear! I hope you feel better soon! Once you feel better, read this advice and maybe it will reduce any future depression. This advice is what I use myself and maybe it can help you as well: * **Identification phase: (1)** Firstly, this sad experience is important to identify what your depressed thoughts/feelings are. Write them down in an empty notebook for 'improve stuttering' * **Analyzing phase: (2)** Secondly, now that you've identified your unwanted thoughts/feelings, you can analyze this sad experience objectively (instead of subjectively). This is to say, analyze what would have happened (the moment that you cried) if you didn't have any desire to say the word fluently, would you still have cried or would you not have cared? This brings me to an important conclusion: since we've analyzed the situation where you cried, we can now confirm that you 'wanted' to speak fluently so your unhelpful condition (that created a speech block) was: "*I should want to move my speech muscles, then it would mean that I did it*". * **Strategy phase: (3)** Thirdly, next time you can try and see if it's more effective to do the opposite of the unhelpful condition. So, let's change it into a helpful condition: "*I should just move my speech muscles, and afterwards the consequence is that it means that I wanted it*". So, try this for a couple of days to see the results and then learn from the trial and errors onwards * **Evaluation phase: (4)** Fourthly, after doing above strategy for some days, you can tweak the strategy to your needs. The positive effect of above strategy is in my experience, that I don't blame (or wait out) '*wanting fluency*' anymore. So, I don't try to maintain the forward flow anymore by '*wanting*' it and thus it won't create a rift anymore (*e.g., I won't think anymore that fluency is a success and stuttering is a failure so I won't feel bothered anymore if I stutter which normally would make me cry - evoking a fight flight and freeze response to freeze my speech muscles*)
