I feel you friend. Mine can be moderate and I’ll get caught on certain words at times when I’m trying to concentrate on everything at once. I work in retail so when it gets busy I catch myself stuttering and I want to totally crawl over and die. Though your dad isn’t totally wrong but I definitely understand. For the longest time people always told me to slow down but my mind rarely “slows” down, I’m always thinking of something and trying to do something so it’s not as easy to just “slow down.” One day I honestly felt relaxed and I tried to remember exactly how it felt in my mind per se and whenever my stutter kicks in real bad I try to remember how I mentally felt in that moment and it kinda helps for me. Edit: I’m 20 and I’ve noticed over time my stutter is very slowly getting better compared to when I was younger so there’s always hope.
