I love your positivity about it. Whenever I meet someone who reacts kindly to me struggling to say a word it's so reassuring. And it usually it takes a long time to cultivate a friendship to the point that I can speak (and stutter) freely. There's definitely more of a shared experience between stutterers but there are also huge differences in the relationships each of us have with our stutter. It sounds like you started off on the right foot talking about it though. Hooray!
