Laughing at your own stutter is actually very good, I do it sometimes too. It's a positive way to show people that you're not so complexed about your stutter. But laughing at it doesn't mean people can be mean at you tho. Don't worry it's not hypocrite at all. The difference is that you, you're being positive, not them. And it's not because you have good self-mockery that people can take it as a green flag to be rude and disrespectful If people start to laugh in a truly mockery and rude way, imo you should say them directly that it's not okay, and explain your vision of your stutter, etc. That's what I've done when I've met people who didn't know and laughed. Maybe they just don't know, and then they gotta be informed about it Hope it helped
