What makes you think that the other people think you're an idiot? Maybe they don't? You're being too hard on yourself, I understand how frustrating having a stutter can be, but there is no benefit gained by beating yourself up over it. We cannot answer why we stutter, and we cannot always control when we stutter, but we can control how we perceive ourselves and how we cope with difficult situations. and it's OK to cry, I'm a 27 year old man and I cry sometimes haha. Moral of the story is, be kind to yourself. You know what your intentions were, OK it didn't work out exactly how you want... but that's no reason to hate yourself.
