I know exactly what you mean! And I'm sure most people here do as well. It isn't about embarrassment for me most of the time either. The fact is lack of fluency (especially on bad days) can kill any sense of flow in a conversation and drive it to a halt. It's like trying to do quick time events with a controller that has sticky buttons. It makes the process of speaking very unenjoyable and that's why I usually do whatever I can to avoid it.
