I have read about that and i think it is absolutely horrible that those children were experimented upon like that. I somewhat feel like the 5- 10% of children who stutter still have the stuttering gene, but it is suppressed by their failure to develop secondary behaviors. That could be the reason why psychogenic stuttering exists, because a traumatic emotional experience may be enough to interfere with brain patterns to sort of (in laymen’s terms) bring the stuttering back into place. We may never truly know, but we can always talk about it!
