There's nothing to take responsibility for. You haven't done anything wrong & there's nothing wrong with you. It's simply part of who you are & something you have to learn to cope with. I've embarrassed myself to hell & back and have lived to tell the tale. As soon as I started putting myself in those uncomfortable situations that we (stutterers) all avoid, I started realizing that the WORST possible outcome was that I would beat myself up about it after the fact. The embarrassment & shame that I felt all came from within. No one else gives a shit that I stutter, & those that do don't matter anyway so fuck 'em.
