Stuttering is recognized as a disability already and you are protected under law by the ADA. Speech is the one quality that defines humans. The ability for complex language is not seen in any other species but our own. Having any issue with speech has massive social consequences. First impressions and networking are the keys to success. If you have a stutter you are put in a ridiculous anxiety inducing situation and are almost bound to fail at times. This doesn’t mean we can’t be successful, this just needs to get recognized. We are not playing the victim card, we are simply getting deserved justice.
