I agree. I admit that I also feel a little uncomfortable when I hear a stutter. And, I stutter now and since childhood. It runs in my family on both sides. One of my sisters dated a guy who stuttered, and I was always a little self-conscious about it. I don't think mine was empathy, but just a vicarious anticipation of if and when they would stutter again.
