For most of my childhood/time as a young adult I wanted to be a Navy SEAL and I knew my stutter would hold me back. It stopped me from even trying to go through selection. I “self selected” as they say when someone doesn’t even bother to go because they don’t believe they’ll make it. I ended up in the army not doing anything cool with my life. I have a wife with a kid on the way so it’s definitely out of the question now. Sometimes I still think about if I could’ve made it or not had I bothered to talk to the navy recruiter.
