I think it's exceedingly important which models of self-understanding we subscribe to. The mainstream "scientific" language does not suffice. But we obviously do not have the same convictions about language, so there's really no need to rehearse this any further. Do not misconstrue my presence on this sub as one of badgering, though. That does not represent my activity, and you clearly haven't been paying attention if you think that's what I'm about. I'm a stutterer, and I care about other stutterers, and I care about what we say of ourselves. You don't have to think the same way, but you cannot misrepresent me.
