For sure, I'm a bit of a late bloomer but I remember suddenly getting comfortable befriending and speaking with women when I was 17 or so. It seemed like such a huge obstacle before. I try not to let my stutter define me, but I feel like people try to define you by it nonetheless, it's really frustrating. I have a lot of hobbies, interests and ambitions and to some people it's all just watered down to "oh that's just a weird guy i know who stutters and is awkward".
