Hm. That's a bit of a narrow way of going about it. If the world turns out to be different than assumed... shouldn't we investigate this difference? It's not like I'm being dismissive of the feeling of being subjected to something that feels dismissive. I actually take it for granted that this occurs. But there's work to be done, there - making this a case of "you do you, others do them" is tantamount to saying "I don't care if the world might be different, I *want* to feel this way"... You see how that's not exactly beneficial?
