I know this is late but what happens to you is normal. We have a way to control our stutter, but in confortable situations it's not needed, so we stutter. It's something we have to live with. You can still try to control while speaking with relatives tho, but it's "harder" since you are relaxed. And I think no one stutters while singing, so thinking of your speech as a melody might help to someone.
