First off ... this is so amazing. Kudos to you. Your son is lucky to have such a caring parent. The rest of the advice on here is pretty spot on. If you’re looking for a holistic approach.. my advice would be to build his confidence in lots of other ways that aren’t necessarily linked to speech. A hobby like guitar, drawing, skating, (singing even - I don’t stutter when I sing, and the same is true of a vast majority of stutterers.) Having a strong identity and ability express yourself in other creative ways can be so therapeutic on many levels. He’ll have to go down his own path in terms of accepting himself and stutter.. but if he has lots of other positive outlets in his life this process might be easier for him. Help him build that resilience. He’s going to cop a lot from random people and even loved ones in his life unfortunately ... but in the end, if you’ve raised your son with empathy and compassion (which it 100% seems like you are) he will be so fine. :)
