I'm just spit-balling... Physical queues if in close proximity. A hand on the speaker's back, shoulder, or forearm. Something subtle, but enough to grab their attention. Make (and hold) eye contact with the person when you jump in. Once you're speaking, you can break eye contact. Again, I'm just spit-balling.
