Media is just that, just entertainment mostly made on preconceptions and clichés, and it doesn't help that speaking fluently is one of the most natural things humans can do so seeing someone who can't do the basics can lead to a wrong representation of their capabilities. You're pointing out a lot of media representation, I don't think it is sane to take it seriously. Real life on the other hand has a lot of people who stutter that are also successful in different fields, why not focus in that?.
