Yep. We also have to internalize the fact that some people are just straight up assholes. Like, yes; we’ll get bad reactions to our stutter at times. But we really shouldn’t use it to fuel insecurities. People like this are just fucking terrible people- that or completely ignorant of what a speech disorder is. Can you honestly imagine being a dick to someone who can’t get words out as quickly as others? No, because that’s fucking terrible! They need to be seen for what they are (and called out) instead of making us see ourselves as something we’re not. Like I spent all this time being deeply anxious about bad reactions like it’ll say something about *me*. That ain’t right.
