In my view, even if you sound a little unusual, that's OK. The goal is communication, and depending on the severity of the stutter, any improvement is good, and can lead to confidence, which may lead to further improvement, as psychology certainly has a role in stuttering. So if it helps you, do it. But my experience is this type of gimmicky stuff has limited duration of efficacy. Once it stops being different enough, fluency drops.
