Research desensitization and voluntary stuttering. Stutter on purpose in front of a mirror for a few weeks. Pay attention to any movements you have added on to the stutter and challenge yourself to lessen those movements. Once you are feeling more comfortable with the mirror, challenge yourself to stutter on purpose with a person or situation you feel relatively safe with. Slowly build up to scarier situations. The gist of voluntary stuttering is to get your body used to stuttering so that the physiological responses to stuttering are lowered. For many people, trying to avoid it will only increase muscle tension which will worsen the blocks
