I dont reccomend reading aloud because reading aloud by oneself is not the same as having a conversation with someone.....reading aloud by oneself---of course you wont stutter.......do not listen to Extra\_Breadfruit5562...he is telling you what he learned from ex-stutterer Lee Lovett......if you don't want to heed my true words--that's OK--I read my tail off 2 hrs a day for many weeks....and saw no change.......because when stutterers read alone in a room by themselves...they won't stutter....is that the same as having a conversation with someone??? NO-----case closed......is techniques are based on avoidance....if you think you might stutter on a word...AVOID the word by not saying it.....or use a synonym to avoid it....and if you think you might stutter....babble a bunch of nonsense to buy time then say what you think you might stutter on.....people want you to get to the point---not say a bunch of nonsense before saying what you wish to say!! He reccomends repeating affirmations...and to drop letters and sylllabes so i ounds ike his!!!! Whispering is one of his tools....and linking words LIKESAYINGMANYWORDSASONELIKETHIS......he proposes fearing words and forcing words causes stuttering and stuttering is a bad habit........those are MYTHS.......you don't want to listen to me.....that's OK too....I just gave you some of the tips...if you know what you will stutter on before it happens...the tips will work......if your stuttering is completely unpredictable.....the book is of no help....
