Very cool that you are sharing your story, and congrats on getting married! My husband also stutters severely. It hurts when people are rude or cruel, and I hate that he’s dealt with that so many times in his life. But I try to remember that everything that happened to him made him who he is, and he’s an amazing person. Love your climbing picture! My husband went into foster care when he was 12, and his foster parents (who he’s still super close to and who we just consider his parents) don’t climb but love hiking and cycling and fishing and all kinds of outdoorsy-stuff. It wouldn’t be his first choice for how to spend a day, because he’s more of a nerd and would probably just read inside, but he still loves doing it with them, and it was so good for him to have things he could do with them where he could be fully part of things even if he didn’t talk much or at all.
