Quote from my book: Re-defining stuttering Hey I just wante to quote a paragraph from my book it may help. "Another thing that´s killer is the label "stutterer". Talk about being it -labels are nefarious things, because they force you into a box with four walls and no door. Once you "are" something, there´s no way out. Whereas, if you change "stutterer" to a "person who stutters," you´ve change the language from *being* the thing to *having* the thing. The difference between a person who sees himself as a stutterer and a person who sees himself a simply a person who sometimes stutters can really be illustrated by this example. If i talk for an hour, and I see myself as a stutterer, and I don´t block, then I see that hour as an absence of something that should be there. **An absence of myself (my add).** Whereas, if I´m a person who stutters, and I talk for an hour without diffilculty, then that´s just it is. I´m not aware of missing anything. There´s not something I should be doing" Great start just change the word stutter for person who stutter you may get great results over time. Take care
