I'm similar. I've always had a stutter but it was never a huge issue other than presentations in my early life. Once I graduated college, it started to affect me much more. I don't think the stutter actually got worse, what happened was I was put under more pressure as now I'm in the working world and have to public speak much more, which causes me to stutter more. And then when I stutter more, my anxiety increases and I overall become more disfluent.
