Problems with stuttering being confused with autism, tourettes and other disorders like them. Before I start no disrespect to anyone with autism or tourettes. Quite a few people I've met get stuttering and conditions like tourettes and autism confused. This leads to some really annoying situations where I am placed in special ed groups and the like, it's also really hard to convince people that your not autistic as they simply won't believe you. This also hinders me in school as many relievers will give me easy and subpar work just because I stutter and it's really annoying to have to ask for the same work as everyone else (I'm also in my schools top class so this is REALLY annoying). Any tips/ideas to help with this?
