Will pretending I’m recording myself help? Thoughts?

Will pretending I’m recording myself help? Thoughts? I’m learning a language and I want to improve my speaking ability in that language and I feel like my stutter really hinders it. I think a lot of my stutter comes from not opening my mouth wide enough, not saying a word long enough (so not stretching it out enough and saying it fully) and just feeling self conscious of my MOVING my mouth. Over time imo I think it has become a habit/compulsion where I want to clamp my my mouth shut when I try to say feared words. If I were to pretend I’m recording myself in front my laptop but not click the record button and just see myself talk, see my mouth move and see that it’s fine, would that help? Anyone tried this before? It definitely doesn’t replicate talking to a real person because I don’t feel any pressure.. but it’s the best I can think of. Not sure if I should try talking normally or exaggerating my mouth movements when I record..
