I'm 25m and I feel the same. I think it's not a speech defect that causes me to stutter, rather it has more to do with the urge of being perfect in my speech and not making any errors which causes more nervousness and anxiety about the situation and the environment resulting in my stuttering. Because I have no problem talking to my friends, parents or girlfriend because I'm simply not afraid to make any mistakes.
