this. self-disclosure can be super powerful. you have stated it, you are honest about it, and now if they have a problem with it it's 100% on them. of course, they very rarely do have a problem with it. it takes practice to get over the weirdness of it, but i highly recommend it. and if they do, you could gently remind them that you are potentially trying to save their lives, but if they would rather just go home and not have their hand reattached, they are welcome to do so...
