Great observation! There’s a professional speech therapist who calls that “bobulations” - the imperfect speech the that everyone has, but isn’t bothered by. The main difference is that people who stutter are way more bothered by the reactions of others. Then, we put in more effort to be fluent, and THAT instantly becomes the block. In English, saying to not respect someone means to treat them badly, but I get your point. Do not worry what they think. If that is hard, there’s a trick. It’s scary, but simple. Do a brief, controllable, voluntary repetition, or just tell them you stutter and pause/repeat a lot.
