Oops, I meant to reply to another lady who said she never met anyone who stuttered. But yeah 3rd grade was very memorable. We had this kindly little old teacher and he always had this pitiful look when speaking to me or the others. Sometimes he'd ask us to write our answers if we were too embarrassed to speak. I know he meant well but the way he kept drawing attention to our condition made things infinitely worse. Our classes were larger than you might be used to, tho. We had 40 - 60 students in an arm of a class (eg. Grade 3A) and 3 or 4 arms (A, B, C, D) per class.
