'Shallow Hal' and stuttering I recently rewatched the movie 'Shallow Hal' after a long time, but this time I kept thinking of how it's relevant to stuttering. I guess the point of the movie is that being able to reject the traditional way that almost all of society views a negative thing and *actually* believe it's a positive, even to the point of self-delusion, can actually be a super power, and a legislate path to happiness, confidence, and fulfillment. I also feel like this aligns with some stutter-affirming approaches I'm familiar with. What do you think? It's either crazy or brilliant, and I'm not sure which. If you haven't seen the film (or it's been a while), I'd highly recommend checking out out.
