Odd! So because they can't understand it, they sort of deny that it's a thing? And yeah, I know it can be embarassing and confusing. But I think part of learning to stutter is to do it regardless. Be mindful of your struggle-to-avoidance ratio, because it's best to not default to avoidance. We tend to feel distanced from ourselves that way.
