I typically don’t even apply for customer-facing roles like cashier, because I know they’re looking for people with “excellent communication skills”. However, it sucks that nobody has faith that I can even prep food, wash dishes, stock shelves, or whatever… I never thought about asking to demonstrate my abilities, but I’ll give it a shot at my next interview.
