Something that my speech therapist told me, was breathing “with your tummy” rather “than your chest” causes less tension that causes blocks like that. For me, tension in my throat causes blocks, and when I focus, breathe calm and deep with my belly, pauses like that are less common. Still happens sometimes but that’s just a part of it. Hope this helps! Oh and sometimes I just flat out replace a word that I feel I’ll block on
