I'd like to share something with you. What I realized was that I was getting stuck on words which I was already pronouncing. Words, or pieces of words. Just like your Br or Bl. Let's say for example, I want to say Bread. In this example, Br will be the problem, not 'ead'. So, I will catch myself going "Br...Br...Br..." or "brrrrrr". Keep in mind, the Br is the porblem piece in this example, not ead. We already know beforehand what will be a problem. I then realized, I was already saying the problem piece (Br), sometimes a zillion times. If Br was such a problem, why am I pronouncing it 20 times? If Ead isn't a problem, then why don't I just continue with 'ead' after I pronounced the problematic 'br'? I realized, it was just me getting stuck in a loop. Getting stuck in NOT continuing the rest of the word. This to me felt mindblowing. So everytimes I stutter now, I quickly tell myself "You already said the problematic piece, now continue with the rest." So I will then go "Br. (a slight stop) ead." Br.ead. We get stuck on the problematic pieces, without realizing we're already pronouncing the problematic pieces. We just need to make the conscious effort of MOVING ON, which is very difficult in that moment, because the mind is in a stressful state. It takes practice to keep on being mindful of this during your speech. It has to become ingrained in your mind. Do you understand what I mean? I hope I'm not too vague. Please tell me if you'd like me to explain a bit more. Hope this helps!
