I took Zoloft for 3 years (18-21), then I took Lexapro for 4 years after that. I was prescribed these for my anxiety though, not my stutter. I personally did not experience any affect on my fluency during those years, but to be honest the medications barely did anything for my anxiety either. They kept on uping the dosage during those years and in the end I had to stop because the side effects were too much for me and I had started dating my wife. Also, when I was in school many people in my life believed that my stutter caused my anxiety, even myself. I whole heartedly believed that if I didn't stutter I wouldnt be anxious. Now that I've had consistent fluency for 14 years I know for a fact that anxiety had nothing to do with it. Im just as anxious but am able to control my fluency. Everyone responds differently to this stuff, so I would say give it a shot, try to be aware of any side effects and come back to it after a couple months of it and see if its made any difference.
