The speech therapist I worked with really focused on coping mechanisms and addressing my stutter emotionally. It was really effective for me. This was also the only time in my life (36/F) that I had opportunities to openly speak with other stutterers - it was so healing for me (and the others). As initial strangers, we connected immediately, we shared stories, we laughed, and even shed some tears. I still keep in touch with one of them, and developed a good friendship that I really cherish. We can understand each other so much and it’s been great to have someone to vent to that gets it. I’m also more than happy to do the same for others interested :)
