Another topic unrelated to my other comment is the prevalence of secondary behaviors and tics that come with stuttering. Sometimes when im stuck on a sound my secondaries are looking up and to the right or left (breaking eye contact), pinching my upper lip under my nose, or really sharp uncontrolled inhaling (usually accompanied by chest tightness). I do them almost automatically on a really bad block, and I can sometimes stop myself because they are embarrasing but if they help me to get unstuck then whatever. Its very interesting that some pws have secondaries and some don't, they help in different ways and come in all kinds of movements and patterns.
