I tried one in the early years of its development. I was around 13 or 14 and thought, "I can never fathom getting used to this noise." It plays back your voice several pitches higher and at a delay so your brain thinks that you're speaking in unison with a group. Somehow that alleviates some stuttering. You do get used to it though, until you get too used to it to the point that it no longer has an effect and you begin stuttering even while it's worn. If I could go back with that knowledge, I would only use it sparingly such as school or any public speaking.
