I appreciate your take and glad you found some peace. My view that it’s a curse is that in my 40s I’ve discovered that I am relatively outgoing, easy to strike conversations with anyone but ultimately I am hindered. I’ve learned strategies to Manage my stutter, and it’s not nearly as apparent as it once was. But the point is I am hindered from being who I really am, and the physical and mental effort to “get out” what I’m really trying to say is enormous and leave me exhausted some times. For me it’s a curse.
