Hey, first of all I’d like to say you’re doing great! Speaking multiple languages can be tricky on the brain and doing that while working at an international IT company? Wow! You’re clearly hard working and self-aware. I understand how that can feel, I’m in a similar position. I have a stammer which ranges from undetectable to severe depending on the situation. I also end up mixing up words in two different languages, and for some reason I’m more comfortable and would stutter less if speaking Italian with English people and English with Italian people. I also have trouble expressing myself most of the time and have anxiety on how that affects my career and social life. I know everyone’s experience is different, but if I can give you an honest advice (especially if you think this might be stress related), go to therapy. This could help you uncover the root cause of your speech problem, then you take it from there and you can find ways of tackling it. If you’ve dealt with traumatic stress at some point in your life, a deeper form of psychoanalysis can help, otherwise CBT also works for some people. Hope you have a great day!
